AB 99 is a pivotal environmental and public health campaign
to curtail the use of hazardous pesticides in our beautiful state of California. The reality is stark; substances such as RoundUp, with their active ingredient glyphosate, have been scientifically linked to cancer and pose a significant threat to the wellbeing of our communities.
In response to this critical issue, I took legislative action by introducing Assembly Bill 99. This legislation was designed to impose limitations on the state's ability to expose our neighborhoods to these dangerous pesticides. The reception to AB 99 was overwhelmingly positive, garnering robust backing from a coalition of over 130 environmental organizations.
Unfortunately, the Senate Appropriations Committee chose to shelve the bill. However, the journey does not end here.
With a groundswell of public support, we have the power to resurrect AB 99 in the forthcoming legislative cycle and ensure its passage.
